Local Area Coach Trip - West Mainland

Take a trip to the West Mainland - the sunny side of Shetland!

The programme of local area coach trips will provide Hamefarers with an opportunity to tour Shetland, taking in the scenery and popular visitor attractions.  In addition, local history groups will be on hand to discuss family history and chat about the area in more detail.  Members of the history groups will also be willing to take Hamefarers to old family steadings/ruins.

Due to the large area to be covered it is proposed to split the trip.  One coach will visit Reawick, Skeld, Selivoe, Walls and Sandness.  The other coach will visit Sandness, Walls and Aith.

Both groups will meet at the Walls Hall for lunch and entertainment.  All participants will get the chance to stop at all the popular viewpoints, visit the Sandness Spinning Mill and see a demonstration of peat casting!
