Local Area Coach Trip - Whalsay
Take a trip to Whalsay where their heritage is rooted in fishing.
The programme of local area coach trips will provide Hamefarers with an opportunity to tour Shetland, taking in the scenery and popular visitor attractions. In addition, local history groups will be on hand to discuss family history and chat about the area in more detail. Members of the history groups will also be willing to take Hamefarers to old family steadings/ruins.
The Whalsay History Group are looking forward to welcoming Hamefarers to Whalsay, known locally as 'Da Bonnie Isle'. Participants will be guided around the island and visit attractions such as the Heritage Centre and restored Hanseatic booth.
Golfing, angling and coastal walks are also available and entertainment will be provided by local school children.
