St Columba's Church - Open Door
The present St Columba's Church was built in 1829 and last year was given a major refurbishment with the wish to make it more available for community events. With this in mind a new heating system was installed, comfortable chairs replaced pews downstairs and a kitchen and general purpose room were built into the entrance area. Along with an easy access ramp and toilets for the disabled it is user friendly.
St Columba's will be open every afternoon from 2pm - 4pm during the Hamefarin with members of the congregation on hand. There will be a slide show and photos showing the renovations. Of particular interest is a new baptismal font designed and made by the local Paperwark Furniture.
An opportunity to visit an interesting and historic building with the opportunity of fellowship with others or quiet reflection.
